With more than forty years of post-secondary experience at colleges and universities in Canada and the United States, Richard brings expertise in all four of Boyer’s scholarships and a wide variety of research contexts.

He comes to Camosun Innovates after serving as Vice-President Academic and Provost at Capilano University and founding Director of Mount Royal University’s Institute for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

Richard was a researcher at Douglas College and Royal Roads University, a faculty member at Bowling Green State University and Sonoma State University, and a Senior Scholar for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching at Stanford.  

He holds a PhD in Theatre History, an MFA in Playwriting, an MA in Drama, and a BA in Liberal Studies.
